Hosted group matches of water polo, synchronized swimming and diving competitions during the Olympics.  The name of the water park is a tribute to the Brazilian swimmer Maria Lenk who died less than three months before its inauguration. It was used for training Olympic and Paralympic athletes, coaches and officials, through courses, conferences, workshops, a gym and hosting small schools (36).
