An aquatics center in the Barra Olympic Park that hosted the swimming events and water polo finals at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The center is designed as a temporary structure, a form of nomadic architecture. After the Games, it was planned to have its parts used in the construction of two new community-swimming centers. This did not happen.  Now completely abandoned, it was trumpeted as a game-changing stadium that would become the model for future host cities building new infrastructure (24).
